The X-Men have a "holodeck" called The Danger Room. The metal skin guy is Colossus, who is in Deadpool, with a different look played by a different actor.

I know a lot of people liked the Wolverine movies, especially Logan, but I'm one of the few who didn't (other than the tie into Deadpool 2). I tend to stick with the three X-Men movies you have now watched, and the first two prequel movies (First Class, and Days of Future Past), oh, and of course Deadpool.

The continuity of the movies get a little convoluted from here on out. Some movies are better then others but non are as bad as Dark Phoenix.

Good luck to those brave souls that will attempt to explain to Cassie and Carly the complete mess of the Xmen franchise timeline with all it's sequels, prequels, reboots, spin-offs and crossovers 😳. Now that the IP is with Disney, I hope there's a little more coherence going forward even though the superhero genre has become more than a little stale.

Jean Grey and the "Phoenix Saga" is one of the biggest stories in the X-Men comics. It was also done really well in the 1990s animated series.

X Men The last stand is one of my favorite X Men movies ever

I was lucky enough to see Patrick and Ian on stage in London’s west end a few years ago. They were both superb. So cool to see them in person.

That last set piece with Jean causing chaos was pretty spectacular. And Wolverine having to end her. A lot of very memorable scenes and effects. It's just that the movie feels disjointed somehow. Probably because of the switch up with directors.

The X-Men, particular the comic book era written by Chris Claremont and illustrated by (fellow Canadian) John Byrne with inking by Terry Austin is a treasure trove of some of comic's best stories, but sadly, no film has ever really reproduced the original stories or matched their quality. The entire Dark Phoenix saga was a masterpiece, but would have needed the film budget to be doubled for an accurate recreation. In that comic arc, a mind controlling villain named Mastermind infiltrated Jean's mind and then courted her in the Victorian era in a time travel simulation. This was done with the help of an evil mutant consortium called The Hellfire Club. He was the reason her mind broke and Dark Phoenix emerged. And when it happened, Jean just didn't vaporize a few people. She blasted across the universe and destroyed entire and solar systems with alien civilizations. To end her rampage, it literally took an inter-galactic battalion of powerful Alien super heroes to slow her down long enough for Charles and the others to try and bring her back, while preventing her from devouring entire galaxies. Jean's death was a jolt that caused the letters section of the following comics to be filled with upset fans who were shocked and brought to tears over Jean's demise. I'm hoping that someday, perhaps not even in my lifetime, that a future filmmaker will reproduce their stories accurately with the budget necessary to pull them off. Until then, this franchise is just a bunch of action movies, loosely based on the comics and written to reach the widest possible audiences to turn a profit. Still, they're fun in their own way, and the reactions are great, as usual. But to the original comic fans of these stories, nothing produced on film so far has captured the emotional gravitas of the original comic books.

Next couple are in this order: X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) - meh X-Men: First Class (2011) - awesome The Wolverine (2013) - pretty decent X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) - amazing

This one was hugely disappointing at the time. Much like the Star Wars prequels. Compared to anything made by Hollywood in the last 15+years though, it's gold 🥇🏆

Frodo was not only stabbed by a Morgul-knife but also put the ring on, even against Gandalfs wishes. He has seen and been part of the Dark Lord Saurons power and is thus influenced by its draw. It is also the same dark power of Galadriel's ring Nenya. Which is why she tells Frodo after staring into the mirror "I know what you saw, for it is in my mind to". Which is why all of them entered the boat sailing to Valinor or the continent Aman or a.ka. the Undying Lands. Think of it as Tolkien's version of paradise. Tolkien also only hinted that Valinor would heal Frodo of his wounds but did not go into explicit detail as to how, leaving the reader to dream of Frodo's future.

I agree with your original assessment. Leechs' mutant "curing" ability is proximity based, and Rogues is contact base. So there is no way she would be able to "take" his power since hers would be "gone" before she could get close enough to touch him 👍

Now that you seen this movie I can say at the end of the 2nd movie, there was a silhouette at the bottom of the lake in the shape of The Phoenix.

I don't know why this movie gets such dislike. I enjoy it. Is it as good as 1 or 2? No. But it's still an enjoyable movie IMO.

However, the soft reboot XMen that come right after this have two instant classics back to back. XMEN FIRST CLASS is appropriately named as it is first class all the way. Incredible blueprint how to reboot a series right. However, XMEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is the high water mark and XMEN movies finest hour. No spoilers. But, it's the one truly non prime era MCU film that could've fit in with those movies in terms of quality. It's freakin' cool.

So, this movie is the end on the original three movie storyline, there won’t be any answers to any of the questions you have. Fox just dropped everything and start fresh with a reinterpretation. From this point on the continuity will be all over the place. Try to resist the urge of trying to connect what you see in the upcoming movies with the original three. There will be similarities but they really aren’t related at all. Just go with the new storylines, take them for what they are and don’t over think them.

Despite the grand display of Jean's "Phoenix" powers they pale in comparison to the actual power it has. The version of the Phoenix in the comics is a cosmic entity that can destroy galaxies. And that is the reason fans were disappointed in this movie because the film version of the Phoenix is nerfed and was not what we were hoping for. To put it in perspective, imagine if all the Infinity Gems could do in the movie was affect the immediate area when Thanos eliminated half of the living beings. The display at the end with the Phoenix's powers should have been on a more epic and grand scale, they should have shown her decimating the entire city and her power continuously going outwards as Wolverine attempted to get close to her to stop her.
